If you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia, that means that you have low bone density. Pilates exercises on the reformer can be a great way to work on posture, alignment, balance, and resistance. However, there are certain positions that should be avoided if you have low bone density. This video is designed to give you information positions that should be avoided and potential modifications for exercises you may encounter in a group reformer class.
To summarize, the movements to avoid are the following:
* Spine flexion (forward bent spine)
* Spine flexion with rotation (the absolute worst)
*Also, Caution with end range side bending and rotation of the spine
